Student Athletic Training Aids
Here at North Star, we allow students to participate as student athletic training aids (SATA). As a SATA, students will learn basic taping techniques, rehabilitation exercises, and practice/game procedures from an athletic training standpoint. Any students who have an interest in athletic training, sports medicine, or any medical profession are encouraged to apply. Even students who do not aspire to work in a medical profession are more than welcome to become a SATA.
While participating as a SATA, students must maintain good academic standing, be able to commit 10 hours a week working practices and games, and work at least one event a week. Students-athletes cannot participate as a SATA during his/her respective sport season. We allow juniors and seniors to participate throughout the entire school year, and have the opportunity to letter as a SATA. Freshmen and sophomores are invited to participate during the fall sports season only.
We ask that interested students fill out an application and student-parent agreement. Two letters of recommendation are required, and one must be from a teacher.
